If I didn’t have to clean up the mess afterwards, I would find cooking completely relaxing (okay, I still find it pretty relaxing). Despite my inability to maintain clean surfaces while I cook, the food usually comes out mighty tasty. I rarely use actual recipes, but when I come up with something I’m proud of, I’ll post it here. I may also share good recipes I find from time to time, and if you’d like to feature your recipes here, let me know!

Deliciously Healthy Apple Carrot Chocolate Cake

Deliciously Healthy Apple Carrot Chocolate Cake

When it comes to baking, I’ve learned a valuable lesson. If it’s good, I have no self control. Shoot, even it’s a little better than edible I have no self control. If I whip something up in the kitchen to be shared by only my little family, you can bet I’ll be “sneaking” bites longContinue Reading

If you were expecting a follow-up post to my last one (a gut wrenching confession of my worry during early pregnancy), I’m sorry to disappoint you. I just don’t feel like doing that yet. What I do feel like is sharing with you a recipe for an AMAZING cake I made over the weekend. It’sContinue Reading

Recipe: Super Easy White Chocolate Pumpkin Stacks

Recipe: Super Easy White Chocolate Pumpkin Stacks

Friends, I’m a little ashamed that I’m even calling this a recipe. It’s basically a glorified s’more. It’s got four ingredients, and all you need is a microwave to make it happen. Super easy. But sometimes, that’s just what we want. And with two little ones under foot, it makes things much easier on momma.Continue Reading

Miss Paula’s Gingerbread House: 20 Years in the Making

When I was nine or so, I happened upon a booth at our local Fall Festival, one that displayed delicious, artistic Gingerbread houses. I was mesmerized. Miss Paula, the master gingerbread architect, was a familiar face seen at my church, my school, and even taking our softball team pictures in the summer. So, I felt completelyContinue Reading

Recipe: Pineapple Pork Cherry Rice

I was lucky enough to have all of these ingredients sitting around, and when I threw them together, I was extremely happy with how it turned out! This recipe is very forgiving. You can use more or less of nearly all of the ingredients, or use chicken or turkey (or no meat) instead of theContinue Reading

Recipe: Easy Pineapple Banana Cobbler

Recipe: Easy Pineapple Banana Cobbler

Looking through my fridge and pantry for something to take to a barbecue tonight, I was at a loss. I had fresh pineapples and bananas, but couldn’t find any recipes online that sounded good, or that I had ingredients for. So, I whipped up my own creation. It’s summery, yet has substance (and isn’t particularlyContinue Reading

Recipe: Sweet Potato Muffins

Recipe: Sweet Potato Muffins

Recipes aren’t something I plan on sharing regularly (because there are so many great recipe blogs out there), but sometimes I come across one that’s just too good to keep to myself. The muffin recipe below is fairly healthy (w/ sweet potatoes and whole wheat flour), and my girls devour these every time I makeContinue Reading
